POLYMER TANK

One of our customers asked FEM ltd for something a little different to what we usually do for them, it was to fabricate a new bespoke polymer tank made from a 40ft shipping container. FEM had to source a new container to the customer’s specifications and work to detailed fabrication drawings provided by the customer. The tank was fabricated to BSEN 1090-class 2 and had to be fully watertight, so all welds had to be dye penetrant tested. Polymers stick to particles so the purpose of the polymer tank was to aerate polymers causing particles to sink to the bottom which can then be removed. The reason for the tank being made from a shipping container was that fact that it was easily transportable to sites around the country.
